CEA HOSTS 2nd ANNUAL SUMMIT CONFERENCE
November 17, 2000
The Construction Employers’ Association held its second annual builder/university summit conference last week to discuss the current state of construction management education as it relates to the building construction industry.
Various issues were discussed, including ways in which the building contractor can better recruit and retain construction management students, assist universities in shaping the construction management educational environment to meet the needs of the industry and promote the visibility of construction management university programs.
Approximately 40 persons participated in this conference, including principals of leading building contractor firms, department heads, professors and construction management students from five universities: UC, Berkeley; CSU, Chico; California Poly, San Luis Obispo; CSU, Sacramento; and Stanford University.
The CEA Construction Management University Grant Program was established to support and promote quality construction management education and to develop long-term relationships with the universities selected to participate in this Program.
Last year, CEA awarded grants to deserving construction management university programs.
